Until one fateful day, when she walks past him carrying a basket of bread. A woman with a lost past. Sienna Ponstance lives in the comfort of her grandmother's estate, having long ago put herself on the shelf as a spinster. Until the day her tranquility is shattered when a strange man accosts her as she is walking home from the village. Love reunited. His wife—dead for ten years—walked along the path in front of Logan. Scarcely believing his eyes, he approaches her and is quickly rewarded with a rebuff that includes the point of a knife. Sienna has no memory of him, thinking him only a ruffian. Now he just has to convince her that he actually is her husband. And that their boundless love can conquer anything—including a past that threatens them at every turn. Join the adventure today! The Devil in the Duke is Logan's story, a favorite recurring character in the Revelry's Tempest series, the enthralling historical regency era romances by USA Today bestselling author, K.J. Jackson. Note: The novels in the Revelry's Tempest series by K.J. Jackson are each stand-alone stories and can be read individually in any order. These historical romances are set in the Regency and Victorian eras, and do not shy away from scenes with steamy heat, occasional naughty language, and moments that might possibly make you squirm.

So when Davina MacCallum shows no signs of being even mildly impressed by him, he is intrigued. Until he learns that her mission in London involves claims against his estate. Book Short Summary:

The long-awaited autobiography of the archetypal kitchen bad boy - Marco Pierre White When Marco Pierre White's mother died when he was just six years old, it transformed his life. Soon, his father was urging him to earn his own keep and by sixteen he was working in his first restaurant. White went on to learn from some of the best chefs in the country, such as Albert Roux, Raymond Blanc and Pierre Koffmann. He survived the intense pressure of hundred-hour weeks in the heat of the kitchen, developed his own style, and then struck out on his own. At Harveys in Wandsworth, which he opened in 1987, he developed a reputation as a stunning cook and a rock 'n' roll sex god of the kitchen. But he was also a man who might throw you out of his restaurant, and his temper was legendary, as younger chefs such as Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal would find out when they worked for him. He eventually opened several more restaurants, won every honour going and then realised that it still wasn't enough. Here Marco takes the reader right into the heat of the kitchen with a sharp-edged wit and a sizzling pace that will fascinate anyone brave enough to open the pages of this book and enter his domain.

Book Short Summary:

"Edwards has...illuminat[ed] the reformer's thought and personality in a way that could never be achieved by studying the man's words alone. Future historians will identify Edwards's book as one of several that marked a turning point in Luther research. No one interested in the Reformation can afford to ignore it."? American Historical Review"Edwards turns his attention to...understanding Luther's often vitriolic campaigns against opposing princes, Jews, the papacy, and others.... This work is one of solid scholarship and long gestation that seeks to understand without condemning.... More important, Edwards has raised a number of questions about the relationship across time of Luther's deeds, his words, and his world. Such is the mark of good history and of those who write it."? Book Short Summary:

In early modern Germany, soothsayers known as wise women and men roamed the countryside. Fixtures of village life, they identified thieves and witches, read palms, and cast horoscopes. German villagers regularly consulted these fortune-tellers and practiced divination in their everyday lives. Jason Phillip Coy brings their enchanted world to life by examining theological discourse alongside archival records of prosecution for popular divination in Thuringia, a diverse region in central Germany divided into a patchwork of princely territories, imperial cities, small towns, and rural villages. Popular divination faced centuries of elite condemnation, as the Lutheran clergy attempted to suppress these practices in the wake of the Reformation and learned elites sought to eradicate them during the Enlightenment. As Coy finds, both of these reform efforts failed, and divination remained a prominent feature of rural life in Thuringia until well into the nineteenth century. The century after 1550 saw intense confessional conflict accompanied by widespread censure and disciplinary measures, with prominent Lutheran theologians and demonologists preaching that divination was a demonic threat to the Christian community and that soothsayers deserved the death penalty. Rulers, however, refused to treat divination as a capital crime, and the populace continued to embrace it alongside official Christianity in troubled times. The Devil’s Art highlights the limits of Reformation-era disciplinary efforts and demonstrates the extent to which reformers’ efforts to inculcate new cultural norms relied upon the support of secular authorities and the acquiescence of parishioners. Negotiation, accommodation, and local resistance blunted official reform efforts and ensured that occult activities persisted and even flourished in Germany into the modern era, surviving Reformation-era preaching and Enlightenment-era ridicule alike.
