Book Short Summary:

The true story of Ira Einhorn, the Philadelphia antiwar crusader, environmental activist, and New Age guru with a murderous dark side. During the cultural shockwaves of the 1960s and ’70s, Ira Einhorn—nicknamed the “Unicorn”—was the leading radical voice for the antiwar movement at the University of Pennsylvania. At his side were such noted activists as Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. A brilliantly articulate advocate for peace in a turbulent era, he rallied followers toward the growing antiestablishment causes of free love, drugs, and radical ecological reform. In 1979, when the mummified remains of his girlfriend, Holly Maddux, a Bryn Mawr flower child from Tyler, Texas, were found in a trunk in his apartment, Einhorn claimed a CIA frame-up. Incredibly, the network of influential friends, socialites, and powerful politicians he’d charmed and manipulated over the years supported him. Represented by renowned district attorney and future senator Arlen Specter, Einhorn was released on bail. But before trial, he fled the country to an idyllic town in the French wine region and disappeared. It would take more than twenty years—and two trials—to finally bring Einhorn to justice. Based on more than two years of research and 250 interviews, as well as the chilling private journals of Einhorn and Maddux, prize-winning journalist Steven Levy paints an astonishing and complicated portrait of a man motivated by both genius and rage. The basis for 1998 NBC television miniseries The Hunt for the Unicorn Killer, The Unicorn’s Secret is a “spellbinding sociological/true crime study,” revealing the dark and tragic dimensions of a man who defined an era, only to shatter its ideals (Publishers Weekly).

Book Short Summary:

The planet is gradually but quickly shifting to a new world order, a new logic regarding how to do business and think about prosperity. No longer the rules of the past apply to grant our survival as a species. Today, more than in any other period in human history, spiritual laws must be known to allow an individual to prosper and find his meaning in the world, to guarantee is economic health. Very few people know about these laws and understand how they fit into a much wider plan, encompassing world events and a transition towards the Era of Aquarius. But, the ones that do, can, not only find a way to prosper, but also understand how to create wonderful and amazing ideas, as well as profit immensely from them and from anywhere on the whole planet. These individuals no longer think in numbers, countries or companies, because they have overcome the paradigm of the masses and are now seeing things from a much deeper and wider perspective. This book offers an opportunity to enter such realm and become part of it. Along these pages, you’ll learn about the financial laws of the spiritual world and how they operate to bring more abundance to your life, while permitting you to fulfill the plan of God and uplifting your conscience towards a more spiritual existence. You’ll also learn how to overcome the barriers that are and will continue being constantly imposed by governments and the elite in power. And, more than anything else, you’ll know which one is the fastest route to become a billionaire in today’s reality while guaranteeing your success for the many years to come. Who we are and what this planet is becoming has been increasingly unified under the same premises, not allowing us any longer to ignore our spiritual identity, as such may very well cause our own extinction as a species on the planet.

Sports Wars: Athletes in the Age of Aquarius (c)

  • Pdf File: sports-wars.pdf

Book Short Summary:

The Vietnam era's tensions--between tradition and new possibilities, black and white, young and old, male and female--were played out on the field of professional and organized sports. SportsWars shows that the century-old position of sports as the standard-bearer for American values, and as a central way of building character, made it a prime target in this time of general disenchantment. Critics began to challenge not only individual abuses but sport's very ideals, and for the first time these critics included athletes themselves. Zang locates a variety of larger cultural debates within professional sports and organized sports more generally: changing valuations of hard work and the physical, winning versus character, and challenges to authority. He also considers the relationships between sports and other domains of popular culture, including the counterculture, rock and roll, and Hollywood.

And so, one can question himself as to how to find it and what kind of actions are required from those that seek it. And this is what this book proposes, i.e., a raw and direct approach at the world, without trying to be politically correct and socially just. As a matter of fact, this book proposes an unveiling of the big lie covering our conscience, a necessary unveiling that will make us embrace the Age of Aquarius with the right attitude and spiritual awareness. And from this new awareness, we can surely imagine a better world for everyone on Earth.

Book Short Summary:

What Thomas Paine did for the American Revolution with the publication of Common Sense, Marilyn Ferguson does for the transpersonal revolution. Marilyn Ferguson is one of the preeminent thinkers, gatherers, and interpreters of research on the cutting-edge fields of human consciousness. The Aquarian Conspiracy, published in 1980, has sold millions of copies, is continuously in print, and was hailed as the "handbook of the New Age," by USA Today. In her newer book, Aquarius Now, movement pioneer Ferguson reexamines the paradigm shift to a more mindful society. She sees us caught in a mindless materialism that threatens our material existence. We are seduced by what she calls the ‘Cult of Numbers’, obsessed with competition, with winning and losing, afraid of anything that can't be seen or measured, and in the grip of an economic model that says only that which generates economic growth is worth pursuing. What can we do? Ferguson boldly tells the truth--we have no enemy except ourselves and the mess we've made individually and collectively by refusing to see what we're doing to our own bodies, to society, and the Earth itself. We've refused to consider the clues in front of our faces. The imbalance we see outside ourselves only mirrors the imbalance within. The way to heal the imbalance is to heal ourselves. The way to heal ourselves is to pay attention, to witness. We need to take responsibility for our own actions. We need to heed the words of the myriad teachers and skills at our disposal. We need to learn to rely on our own "radical common sense." The task is not to climb a mountain, but to navigate a river. We have to stop thinking of ourselves as conquerors and start thinking of ourselves as fellow travelers' with other human beings and every living being on this planet, including the planet itself. Ferguson dares to ask the question, "Can we change?" and concludes that we can and we must change. The Age of Aquarius will occur when we want it to occur.

Book Short Summary:

The Book of Theanna contains a collection of letters written by Ellias, which he began transcribing from Theanna (formerly Sara Lonsdale), his wife and twin soul, shortly after her death. They communicate and commune through a sacred impulse that rises from the Earth and descends from the Heavens. It is this very current that brings forth a path into the Age of Aquaria. In the course of these writings, Sara journeys to Heaven and Hell and the vast Lands in between. She paints vivid pictures of her encounters in each of these realms. Through the teachings she brings ways to break the crystallized shell holding us back from ultimate self-love and forgiveness. Waving the smelling salts through the words, she discusses illness, karma, the dark side, the Lord of Death, Christ, the death minds, and how to awaken to Truth. There is an immense need for Death’s truth to fully reveal itself. What this updated edition carries is a renewed and refreshed revelation—death is a different death than was ever possible before. It can now come forward in a redemptive fashion. Not just another account of life after death, not a channeled book in the usual sense, The Book of Theanna comes to break death’s spell with the power and intensity of Love from across the veil now returned to Earth. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Experience the transition into the 1950s, when even as tourism boomed, Cape residents feared polio and called for zoning to ban hot dog stands. Book Short Summary:

This book, The Book of It, is not the ultimate and single explanation of what its author has uncovered by years of reading, research, and listening to the words and teachings of others. The fact is that the only part of It that can be described by a single strand within The Book of It explains, at times cryptically, the journey of its author through the strands of It that he himself has encountered. Strands passing across history, through literature and religious texts and philosophies, and even into the legends of the world. It can easily be seen as the tale of unknown centuries of people easily manipulated by virtue of what they wish to have and how they are taught or led to obtain it, along with what they are oftentimes kept willingly ignorant of as they unknowingly push an apparently undying school of thought and way of life crashing forward through time. It is not so much the story of some grand conspiracy as it is the story of people blinded by imagined desires and glories. Individuals working at the same time, but neither with or without the perceived aid of each other down the path to attaining. It contains a strand of common legends, stories, lessons, and teachings that are somehow known the world over. Stories of once great empires and their cities and peoples now long forgotten, at least one great war, masters who exploited mass populations kept in ignorance, of the same monumental disasters, and of the destruction of it all over and over so that another chance can be given to creation along with the chance to finally build a truly eternal civilization and culture, and more.

Ray Grasse deciphers the signs and correspondences of our nearing Aquarian future, using the tools of astrology, synchronicity, and mythology. He draws richly from contemporary religion, art, politics, science, even current movies, to show how the cultural signs of Aquarius and our likely future are already apparent and changing our world. The Aquarian Age will be marked by its intensely mental quality, when information will be the driving force of society and the biggest challenges we face will be those of the mind. Decentralization will be the order of business, either the empowered individual will reign supreme, or the collective interests of globalized society will predominate. It could be both. We are all participants in the global drama and all aspects of our inner and outer lives are bound up with the new Aquarian themes. ‘Signs of the Times' is the authoritative travel guide for the trip into our future – don't leave the present without it.

Book Short Summary:

In summer 1969, astronauts landed on the moon and hippie hordes descended on Woodstock—two era-defining events that are not entirely coincidental. Neil M. Maher shows how NASA’s celestial aspirations were tethered to terrestrial concerns of the time: the civil rights struggle, the antiwar movement, environmentalism, feminism, and the culture wars.

Book Short Summary:

Originally stirred up around 2013 on scrap paper & juice-stained journals... ***** Author Message: This book finally came to fruition in 2016 after a raucous ride. I am pleased to say it was my very first book. It is different from the rest of my books because it dawned only when I was just beginning to feel like it was safe enough to shine. I just came off the streets of Philadelphia & like a cat... managed to land on my feet somehow. It contains a rather distinct version of the most harrowing part of my life story, not for the faint of heart. However, the pages thereafter are a delightful peruse down the endless isles of imagination, leading to all the many ways that... ANYONE can heal their demons, if you just invite them in for a little sweet tea. ***** It is dedicated to all the underdogs of our culture that deserve to now WIN, all those who suffer or struggle(d) with abuse, addiction, or incarceration... & their families. Essentially, this is a guide facilitating the art of holistic recovery via MANUALLY reintroducing the feel-good chemicals back into an otherwise “special needs” brain ravaged by drug or alcohol abuse, & the like. ***** Not to mention, FEELING GOOD is how we maintain freedom. Deliberately CHOOSING to feel good is the modus operandi of a MASTER MANIFESTOR. Gain this skill just by reading! Fortified with over 100 colorful images, this book is like a cool magazine from cover to cover. ***** Looking for ways to become more mindful? Look no further. All it takes is to be grateful within the details of the moment. If you decide to go forth unto the many beautiful pages & beautiful feelings that are captured within this book, you will see how mindfulness comes naturally. It's simple. It's easy. Words are wands. Thoughts become things. ***** If you do not have the beautiful feeling faucet flowing by the end of this book you just might be dead inside. ***** BookonFire Press~ #InLoveWeTrust

Book Short Summary:

The Book of Enoch was widely read and believed by the Early Church, but came into disfavor by the Roman Catholic Church and became a lost book. The Book of Enoch was rediscovered in Egypt in the 18th century having been preserved by the Coptic Church. Unfortunately it was translated and analyzed during a time of great unbelief in God and the Bible. So also the author of the introduction, not the translator, here calls Enoch a work of fiction. He does so because he wants to discredit Christianity, but he only succeeds in authenticating the Book of Enoch, because of the numerous connections he provides between Enoch and the New Testament. Since this translation and that of R. H. Charles were first published, several copies of the Book of Enoch were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, which further connects the book with the Jews of Palestine in the 1st century. This translation of the Book of Enoch was once popular, so I have updated the language to make it more readable today by replacing archaic words we no longer use such as "execrate" with the modern equivalent, and changing the Roman Numerals with modern numbers. Please leave a review of this book, thanks.

Book Short Summary:

This book describes the philosophy and the use of Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot, a deck of Tarot cards designed by Crowley and co-designed and painted by Lady Frieda Harris. The Thoth Tarot has become one of the best-selling and most popular Tarot Decks in the world. It is also one of the most original interpretations of the tarot, incorporating astrological, numerological, Egyptian, and Qabalistic symbolism. While there are many other useful guides to this famous tarot deck, there are no others that explain the deck in its designer's own words. The book is divided into four major parts: * Part One: The Theory Of The Tarot. * Part Two: The Atu (Keys or Trumps). * Part Three: The Court Cards. * Part Four: The Small Cards. Part One is further divided into three chapters; Part Two into two chapters and an appendix; Part Three into one chapter; and Part Four into one chapter. The book includes a list of plates depicting the Tarot cards as seen by Crowley and Harris.
