Book Short Summary:

This book consists mostly of poems God has given me since I started my journey with Him. I call it a journey, because when a person repents of his/her sin and ask Jesus to live in their hearts, they are no longer looking to this world as home. We have a city on high, built without hands that will be our homes; we are pilgrims here in this world. Even though God has given me many dreams and I’ve watched them come to pass, I make no claims to being a Joseph. I am in awe every time God shows me something in a dream and I see it unfold, some not so pleasant, and others it would be hard to describe. God put into my heart to share these poems with believers and non believers alike, that some may come to know what God can do for them. What He has done for me He will do for others, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened to you. I’ll share a bit of my life before knowing my loving Savior, so you might see what He brought me from and where I’m headed. I threw away many years when I could have had this wonderful life I live now. Believe me when I say, when people get born again, they regret those wasted years. I let the enemy take everything from me. God in His goodness has restored all things back to me, the family I lost and the love that should have been there all along. Sin hardens the heart, the more you sin the harder it becomes; in the end you can hardly feel love at all. I know these poems will bless you as they have blessed me and others. To God be all the glory, it is Him that gave me the poems and the testimony. I hope you enjoy reading these poems as much as I enjoyed putting down on paper what the Holy Spirit put into my heart

Book Short Summary:

An electrifying thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling author and “Queen of Suspense” Mary Higgins Clark! When investigative journalist Gina Kane receives an email from a “CRyan” describing her “terrible experience” while working at REL, a high-profile television news network, Gina knows she has to pursue the story. But when Ryan goes silent, Gina is shocked to discover the young woman has died tragically in a jet ski accident while on holiday. Meanwhile, REL counsel Michael Carter finds himself in a tricky spot as several more female employees have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct. Carter approaches the CEO, offering to persuade the victims to accept settlements in exchange for their silence. It’s a risky endeavor, but it could well make him rich. As more allegations emerge, Carter’s attempts to keep the story from making headlines are matched only by Gina Kane’s determination to uncover the truth. Was Ryan’s death truly an accident? And when another accuser turns up dead, Gina realizes someone—or some people—will go to depraved lengths to keep the story from seeing the light. “Clark’s usual mixture now updated, with surprising and welcome assurance, for a new generation of imperiled women” (Kirkus Reviews).

Book Short Summary:

I was mandated to write All By Myself...yet Never (Ever) Alone. For years, I'd been in the habit of early-morning intercession with praise and worship as well. One morning, the Lord quieted me down and plainly and powerfully instructed me to write precisely this book. It was to be "His work" for others, and I was to be only the transcriptionist. In one sitting, He dictated the general scope and purpose to me. All the chapter titles are from him, and every sentence within them is inspired by the Holy Spirit. It was to be a pure joy as I daily chronicled for the Lord as He dictated to me his heart and instruction. My short testimony and portion addressed to salvation are very important. However, the latter section devoted to the believer will probably speak loud and clear as a guide and encouragement to the discouraged Christian and the wounded spiritual warriors in the Church. We must maintain the joy of the Lord and be renewed in our spirits to serve God as mature children of the living God! God's sanctification process is a divine lifetime journey, and we don't want to miss any tender moment or required work for the Kingdom. Day by day, we experience inner change accompanied by effective Christian service. I pray this book to be a wonderful tool the Spirit of God will use to speak to his loved ones and draw many more children into the Father's eternal Kingdom.

When Olivia Laing moved to New York City in her midthirties, she found herself inhabiting loneliness on a daily basis. Moving from Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks to Andy Warhol’s Time Capsules, from Henry Darger’s hoarding to David Wojnarowicz’s AIDS activism, Laing conducts an electric, dazzling investigation into what it means to be alone, illuminating not only the causes of loneliness but also how it might be resisted and redeemed. Book Short Summary:

The compelling, inspiring, and comically sublime New York Times bestseller about one man’s coming-of-age, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed. Trevor Noah’s unlikely path from apartheid South Africa to the desk of The Daily Show began with a criminal act: his birth. Trevor was born to a white Swiss father and a black Xhosa mother at a time when such a union was punishable by five years in prison. Living proof of his parents’ indiscretion, Trevor was kept mostly indoors for the earliest years of his life, bound by the extreme and often absurd measures his mother took to hide him from a government that could, at any moment, steal him away. Finally liberated by the end of South Africa’s tyrannical white rule, Trevor and his mother set forth on a grand adventure, living openly and freely and embracing the opportunities won by a centuries-long struggle. Born a Crime is the story of a mischievous young boy who grows into a restless young man as he struggles to find himself in a world where he was never supposed to exist. It is also the story of that young man’s relationship with his fearless, rebellious, and fervently religious mother—his teammate, a woman determined to save her son from the cycle of poverty, violence, and abuse that would ultimately threaten her own life. The eighteen personal essays collected here are by turns hilarious, dramatic, and deeply affecting. Whether subsisting on caterpillars for dinner during hard times, being thrown from a moving car during an attempted kidnapping, or just trying to survive the life-and-death pitfalls of dating in high school, Trevor illuminates his curious world with an incisive wit and unflinching honesty. His stories weave together to form a moving and searingly funny portrait of a boy making his way through a damaged world in a dangerous time, armed only with a keen sense of humor and a mother’s unconventional, unconditional love.

Book Short Summary:

Hailed by The New York Times as "a compelling dystopian look at paranoia from one of the most unique and perceptive writers of our time," this brief, captivating novel offers a cautionary tale. The story unfolds within a society in which all traces of individualism have been eliminated from every aspect of life — use of the word "I" is a capital offense. The hero, a rebel who discovers that man's greatest moral duty is the pursuit of his own happiness, embodies the values the author embraced in her personal philosophy of objectivism: reason, ethics, volition, and individualism. Anthem anticipates the themes Ayn Rand explored in her later masterpieces, The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. Publisher's Weekly acclaimed it as "a diamond in the rough, often dwarfed by the superstar company it keeps with the author's more popular work, but every bit as gripping, daring, and powerful." Anthem is a dystopian fiction novella by Ayn Rand, written in 1937 and first published in 1938 in England. It takes place at some unspecified future date when mankind has entered another dark age characterized by irrationality, collectivism, and socialistic thinking and economics. Technological advancement is now carefully planned (when it is allowed to occur at all) and the concept of individuality has been eliminated.

Have you ever looked around and wondered, “Why has everyone found love except me?” You’re not the only one. Great relationships don’t just appear in our lives—they’re the culmination of a series of decisions, including whom to date, how to end it with the wrong person, and when to commit to the right one. But our brains often get in the way. We make poor decisions, which thwart us on our quest to find lasting love. Drawing from years of research, behavioral scientist turned dating coach Logan Ury reveals the hidden forces that cause those mistakes. But awareness on its own doesn’t lead to results. You have to actually change your behavior. Ury shows you how. This “simple-to-use guide” (Lori Gottlieb, New York Times bestselling author of Maybe You Should Talk to Someone) focuses on a different decision in each chapter, incorporating insights from behavioral science, original research, and real-life stories. You’ll learn: -What’s holding you back in dating (and how to break the pattern) -What really matters in a long-term partner (and what really doesn’t) -How to overcome the perils of online dating (and make the apps work for you) -How to meet more people in real life (while doing activities you love) -How to make dates fun again (so they stop feeling like job interviews) -Why “the spark” is a myth (but you’ll find love anyway) This “data-driven” (Time), step-by-step guide to relationships, complete with hands-on exercises, is designed to transform your life. SOON TO BE A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE—The #1 New York Times bestselling worldwide sensation with more than 12 million copies sold, hailed by The New York Times Book Review as “a painfully beautiful first novel that is at once a murder mystery, a coming-of-age narrative and a celebration of nature.” For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life—until the unthinkable happens. Where the Crawdads Sing is at once an exquisite ode to the natural world, a heartbreaking coming-of-age story, and a surprising tale of possible murder. Owens reminds us that we are forever shaped by the children we once were, and that we are all subject to the beautiful and violent secrets that nature keeps.

Book Short Summary:

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From the author of Small Great Things and The Book of Two Ways comes “a powerfully evocative story of resilience and the triumph of the human spirit” (Taylor Jenkins Reid, author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones & The Six) Rights sold to Netflix for adaptation as a feature film • Named one of the best books of the year by She Reads Diana O’Toole is perfectly on track. She will be married by thirty, done having kids by thirty-five, and move out to the New York City suburbs, all while climbing the professional ladder in the cutthroat art auction world. She’s an associate specialist at Sotheby’s now, but her boss has hinted at a promotion if she can close a deal with a high-profile client. She’s not engaged just yet, but she knows her boyfriend, Finn, a surgical resident, is about to propose on their romantic getaway to the Galápagos—days before her thirtieth birthday. Right on time. But then a virus that felt worlds away has appeared in the city, and on the eve of their departure, Finn breaks the news: It’s all hands on deck at the hospital. He has to stay behind. You should still go, he assures her, since it would be a shame for all of their nonrefundable trip to go to waste. And so, reluctantly, she goes. Almost immediately, Diana’s dream vacation goes awry. Her luggage is lost, the Wi-Fi is nearly nonexistent, and the hotel they’d booked is shut down due to the pandemic. In fact, the whole island is now under quarantine, and she is stranded until the borders reopen. Completely isolated, she must venture beyond her comfort zone. Slowly, she carves out a connection with a local family when a teenager with a secret opens up to Diana, despite her father’s suspicion of outsiders. In the Galápagos Islands, where Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection was formed, Diana finds herself examining her relationships, her choices, and herself—and wondering if when she goes home, she too will have evolved into someone completely different.

Book Short Summary:

Soon to be a major motion picture from Lionsgate starring Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively and Henry Golding, and directed by Paul Feig "Riveting and brilliantly structured, A Simple Favor is an edge-of-your seat domestic thriller about a missing wife and mother that relies on a rotating cast of unreliable narrators to ingeniously examine the cost of competitive mom-friends, the toll of ordinary marital discontent and the fallacy of the picture-perfect, suburban family."—Kimberly McCreight, New York Times bestselling author She’s your best friend. She knows all your secrets. That’s why she’s so dangerous. A single mother's life is turned upside down when her best friend vanishes in this chilling debut thriller in the vein of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. It starts with a simple favor—an ordinary kindness mothers do for one another. When her best friend, Emily, asks Stephanie to pick up her son Nicky after school, she happily says yes. Nicky and her son, Miles, are classmates and best friends, and the five-year-olds love being together—just like she and Emily. A widow and stay-at-home mommy blogger living in woodsy suburban Connecticut, Stephanie was lonely until she met Emily, a sophisticated PR executive whose job in Manhattan demands so much of her time. But Emily doesn’t come back. She doesn’t answer calls or return texts. Stephanie knows something is terribly wrong—Emily would never leave Nicky, no matter what the police say. Terrified, she reaches out to her blog readers for help. She also reaches out to Emily’s husband, the handsome, reticent Sean, offering emotional support. It’s the least she can do for her best friend. Then, she and Sean receive shocking news. Emily is dead. The nightmare of her disappearance is over. Or is it? Because soon, Stephanie will begin to see that nothing—not friendship, love, or even an ordinary favor—is as simple as it seems. A Simple Favor is a remarkable tale of psychological suspense—a clever and twisting free-fall of a ride filled with betrayals and reversals, twists and turns, secrets and revelations, love and loyalty, murder and revenge. Darcey Bell masterfully ratchets up the tension in a taut, unsettling, and completely absorbing story that holds you in its grip until the final page.

Book Short Summary:

" To all mothers, workaholic, and alcoholic, homeless, helpless, and drug addict, there are times that you have been terrific even during times that you have been sick." These sentences come from my poem title " mother's day". " I am dark. I am not from France or Beijing, neither from Japan nor italy, but from the same place of opportunity. " These sentences come from my poem title " I am black". " My heart is so humble . I avoid it to be trouble. This could lead me to get my fame, instead of living sad and ashamed." These sentenses come from my poem title " a heart of love ". These words come from the inspiration of my heart. I welcome you to be part of my world to accept love in your heart because it will live forever through you and us and I. we may not be able to share it with everyone that we love, but at least we must try. If it is refused, it is not our fault, instead it is their fault. " love is not about you or me, but it is about you and me to stick together all the time. " these sentences come from my poem title " love is not about". Therefore , as long as we talk about love , we read about love and we dream about love, we will stick together for much more longer than ever to enjoy life. Webster Joseph

Book Short Summary:

Michael, who grappled with the truth of religious faith in the first novel of this trilogy, Through Fire to Faith, and with the personal turmoil brought about by the horrific massacre at his church in Through Horror to Hope, now finds himself confronted with the very meaning of life and death. In Through Loss to Love Michael must sort out and resolve the conflicting questions that spring from the suicide attempt of a major character, an unsettling visit from his best friend Tom, the birth of his son, the apparent conversion of his assailant Jonah and the distressing deaths of two other characters who are very close to his life story. Answers and insights grow from his own reflections and from another inspirational meeting with Fr. David. Michael then gets the opportunity to formulate and share his personal insights about life and death at a seminar entitled Religion, Psychology, Philosophy and the Problem of the Meaning of Life, but his point of view is once again seriously challenged by a fellow professional. Yet with all that he has gone through, Michael speaks confidently to this challenge and shares his hard-won personal insights about the true meaning of life and death, which differ markedly from his opponent’s. Michael’s personal odyssey finally comes to an end with his sincere commitment to be a person whose life radiates the virtues of faith, hope and love.

Book Short Summary:

A “superbly plotted” (Los Angeles Times) page-turning classic from the undisputed Queen of Suspense and #1 New York Times bestselling author Mary Higgins Clark. A minor road accident landed county prosecutor Katie DeMaio in Westlake Hospital. That night, from her window, she thought she saw a man load a woman’s body into the trunk of a car...or was it just a sleeping pill induced nightmare? At work the next day, Katie began investigating a suicide that looked more like murder. Initial evidence pointed elsewhere, but medical examiner Richard Carroll saw a trail leading to Dr. Edgar Highley. He suspected that the famous doctor’s work “curing” infertile women was more than controversial—that it was deceitful, depraved, and often deadly. But before Richard could tell Katie his fears, she left the office for the weekend and an appointment for routine surgery...in Dr. Highley’s operating room. “A harrowing tale” (The New York Times Book Review) that’s “indescribably suspenseful” (San Francisco Chronicle), The Cradle Will Fall is a page-turning thriller of the highest order.
